Ronald Wayne Peak

Age 78, Henderson, KY

Ronald Wayne Peak, 78, of Henderson, Kentucky, was born on June 17, 1946, and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice at the Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson, Kentucky.

Ronald was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Henderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Monnie Peak, and his sister, Betty Gower.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Deborah Peak; his brother, David Peak of Henderson, Kentucky; and his three sons, Jason Peak (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida), Nathan Peak (Marion, Kentucky), and Alex Peak (Rolesville, North Carolina). Ronald was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Raegan Peak, Hayden Peak, Claire Peak, Lainie Peak, Titus Peak, and Jordyn Peak.

A graduate of Murray State College, Ronald earned his bachelor's degree in business in January 1969. It was during his college years that he met the love of his life, Deborah, and they built a marriage founded on love and devotion. He began his career with the State of Kentucky's Child Welfare Department, where he worked from 1969 to 1978, before dedicating the remainder of his 30-year career to CSX Transportation in the railroad industry. During his time with CSX, Ronald displayed his talent as a skilled writer, earning multiple awards for technical writing.

Ronald had a zest for life and a passion for antique cars, particularly enjoying driving his cherished 1966 Corvette Stingray. He also loved Kentucky basketball, landscaping, and home improvement projects. He could often be found "piddling in the yard," a favorite pastime that allowed him to take care of his home and find joy in the little things.

He was a man of great wisdom, particularly when it came to life and parenting. Ronald believed it was his duty to raise quality adults who were proactive members of society, a responsibility he embraced and fulfilled with pride through his three sons. His philosophy on life and his dedication to his family made a lasting impact on those who knew him.

Ronald had a deep love for dogs and treasured spending time outdoors, whether it was working in his yard or traveling across the United States. Above all, he loved his family and found his greatest joy in their company.

Ronald will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who touched the hearts of all who knew him.

There will be no formal visitation or funeral, but a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Ronald's memory to Toys for Tots, to help a family in need.

" No matter where you are or what you’ve done, God’s love remains constant. His grace covers every mistake and His mercy renews every morning."
